RT is a confederation formed by six branches of the construction industry, which is managed as a single entity. The administrative structure is made up of the central RT union and sub-associations representing industries.

We make use of the expertise of the personnel of all our industries in handling the joint tasks of the union community. RT's strategy serves as the basis for a common operating model. Our operations are organized into areas of responsibility and teams in accordance with the strategy, as well as continuous activities and processes, all of which have a person in charge at the federal community level. In addition, our different industries are responsible for organizing and implementing their own industry-specific tasks.
Duties of RT's federal community management team
The association has a management team, which is chaired by RT's CEO. The management team also has a working committee appointed by the CEO. The management team supports the CEO in managing the operations of the alliance community and prepares matters for consideration by RT's board of directors and representative council and implements the decisions. The management team leads and coordinates our operational activities.
Duties of RT's board
The board's task is to be responsible for the preparation of the representative council meetings and the implementation of their decisions. The board is responsible for preparing RT's strategy, action plan, action report, as well as the confederation's budget and financial statements, and implements a joint strategy and action plan. The board's task is to form a position on RT's strategic and principled issues as well as on the construction industry's key supervisory issues. The board approves the joint collective agreement goals and the entry into force of the collective agreement solution.
RT's supreme decision-making power is exercised by the representative board, which meets twice a year.

History of RT: The roots of the construction industry in the year 1920
Construction Industry RT's predecessor, the Finnish Construction Industry Employers' Association, started in 1920, when construction industry employers needed to unite as a counter force to the organization of workers. RT's 100-year history From fragmented actors to a strong influencer is a story about how the construction industry and related organization activities developed with changes in the operating environment over the course of a hundred years. Cross-cutting themes from decade to decade have been especially working conditions, skilled workforce, occupational safety, fair competition, construction methods and business cycles.
