Surface contractors

Pintaurakoitsijat ry is an industry and employer organization in the painting and surface treatment industry, which oversees the interests of its member companies in labor market and economic policy matters and promotes operational opportunities in the industry. The Surface Contractors Association consists of 16 local associations. All member companies are always members of Rakennusteollisuus RT ry through local associations.

The members of surface contractors are painting and surface treatment companies with a combined turnover of approximately EUR 350 million. Most of the member companies do especially painting, smoothing, surface treatment or plastering work, but also other works related to the construction industry and special contracting. The industry is highly labor-intensive and around 230 member companies employ more than 3000 industry professionals. Most of the member companies are SMEs in size, but the largest companies employ more than 400 employees.

Surface contractors are independently responsible for the industry's collective agreement negotiations, i.e. they negotiate the Maalausala collective agreement with Rakennusliito, which represents the employees. In addition, together with three other unions of RT, it is a party to negotiate the collective agreement of construction workers with the Trade Union PRO.

Surface contractors offers its member companies a comprehensive member advisory service and actively informs, especially about labor relations and economic issues, and educates its member companies about labor relations, contracting and YSE matters.
