At Work

I work for all three Surface Industry Unions (Surface Contractors, Roofing Union, Floor and Wall Covering Union). I am responsible for the associations' member affairs, communications (newsletters, announcements, social media, website updates), financial administration (invoicing, purchase ledger, accounting), organizing events and all other office matters that come up for the associations. I am part of RT's management team.

At the Site

Building a detached house was an interesting and educational experience in all its stages. Doing it yourself is far from that, i.e. mostly any small surface repair, where there is more enthusiasm than actual know-how! Sometimes you have to even try to use all kinds of "strange tools" to create some (more interior) elements for your home or cottage. When inspiration strikes, for example painting or wallpapering or even making a terrace table, fence element or headboard, you have to start from the very beginning!

In my free time

Outside of work, e.g. jogging with my two dogs, occasionally going to yoga, doing crosswords and seeing friends and family. I have homes in Helsinki and Kouvola, where my son and father also live, and I also spend a lot of time in Tampere with my daughter and sister's family. From spring to fall I camp at Vuohijärvi and eagerly follow baseball on the sidelines of any field or in front of the TV, from fall to spring I devour books and series under a blanket wearing woolen socks while burning candles.
