The construction industry is catching up with tough circular economy targets – 16 companies are participating in the green deal!

Joining the circular economy green deal has been made easy for members of the Finnish Construction Industry Federation. SMEs in particular are encouraged to participate.

RT helps SMEs that have embarked on a green deal identify their own concrete circular economy actions and set a related goal.

Finland has ambitious goals in the circular economy. It is of particular importance to the construction sector, says RT's Director of Nature and Circular Economy Affairs Juha Laurila.

“More than half of the natural resources used in Finland are used in the built environment, so even small measures in this area have a big impact.”

In order to boost the circular economy in the sector, the Construction Industry RT was the first industry to sign a voluntary circular economy green deal commitment.

“We made an umbrella commitment on behalf of the entire industry to make it as easy as possible for companies of all sizes to get involved,” Laurila explains.
