Summer job hunting is in full swing now. 18 percent of construction companies plan to hire more summer workers than the previous year, according to a survey conducted by the Confederation of Finnish Industries (EK) among companies.

In a survey conducted by EK among companies in various industries, the number of summer jobs in 2026 will remain at the same level as last year. 636 member companies from various industries responded to the survey. The general economic uncertainty and delayed economic growth are still reflected in the number of jobs in all industries.
"There have been fewer summer jobs in the construction industry than usual in recent years due to the difficult economic situation. However, it is great that about 18 percent of the construction industry companies that responded said they would recruit more summer workers next summer than last summer. Only 4,4 percent said they would recruit fewer. Based on the responses from member companies, it is expected that the number of summer jobs this year will even increase compared to last year," says RT's leading expert Saku Lehtinen.
We encourage all our member companies to offer summer jobs, internships and thesis positions to young people.
You can find instructions for recruiting young workers in the For Members section. The instructions will be updated later in the spring. We have also published a Duunitori summer jobs feed. construction.fion the site.
