During Raksa TET week, 50 young people will get to know the everyday life of the construction industry

During the Helsinki Metropolitan Area Raksa TET week, 50 young people will have the opportunity to get to know the construction industry from many different perspectives. During the week, they will visit offices and construction sites, meet professionals in the field and hear about various job tasks and career opportunities. The week will be held from 28 September to 2 October 2026.

Raksa TET, led by the Children and Youth Foundation, is organized in collaboration with GRK, Jatke, Peab, WSP, YIT and the Finnish Construction Industry RT.

At Raksa TET, young people get to know the operations of a construction company during a week and see what kind of expertise the built environment needs. Each participating company organizes its own TET day. The program, destinations and tasks change during the week.

The first Raksa TET week was organized a year ago and the feedback from young people and the organizing companies has been excellent. Young people gave the week almost full marks. This year the week will be organized from 28.9.–2.10.2026.

Do you know a young person for whom TET week is relevant? There's still time to apply!

Offer young people the opportunity to explore the construction industry

We encourage all our member companies to offer young people TET positions in their own companies and on their construction sites.

A TET period can be a young person's first concrete experience in the construction industry - and at best it can also influence future study and career choices.

The work experience periods are organized in the upper grades of comprehensive schools, usually in grades 8 and 9. The periods are focused on the autumn and usually last 1–2 weeks. The young person is insured by the school for the period, and no salary is paid for the TET period.

Many industries are competing with us for the same future talents. That's why we should show and tell why young people should head into the construction industry!
