During the Raksa TET week, approximately 50 middle school students got to know the construction industry both on construction sites and in offices. During the construction site visits, the young people also received an introduction to occupational safety. The TET students rated the week as almost perfect: the TET week received a school grade of 9,1 from the young people.

During the Raksa TET week, led by the Children and Youth Foundation, young people got to know the industry with guidance from GRK Suomen, Jatke, YIT, Peab Industri and WSP Finland. The Finnish Construction Industry Federation (RT) was also involved in the week's arrangements.
The young people who participated in the week assessed the Raksa TET week as very successful. Over 90 percent felt that their attitude towards working life became clearer during the week, and almost all young people responded that their interest in the construction industry increased.
"Raksa TET was a unique opportunity to get a glimpse behind the scenes of construction and the operations of construction companies. During the interesting company and construction site visits, the young people were able to get to know a wide range of construction tasks, from building design to practical work tasks on construction sites," says Jatke's Human Resources Director Siru Rinne.
Young people enthusiastically registered for Raksa TET and 50 places were filled in no time. Construction companies see Raksa TET as an important part of the industry's attraction efforts.
"Our industry needs new people. It was great to be able to show the people of Tetti how diverse and meaningful our industry is," says YIT's Head of Talent Attraction. Thomas Finell.
Almost half of the young people who participated in the week felt that the construction industry was a profession of the future.
"TET week is a great opportunity to get on the same wavelength as the workforce of the future. At the same time, we show young people that we are interested in them and that we value them," says the project manager for attraction work. Janne Suntio Construction industry from RT.
Raksa TET is part of the model developed by the Children and Youth Foundation's TET.fi service, which offers young people high-quality and guided periods of introduction to working life.
"Raksa TET is a great example of how to make TET week exciting and meaningful. Young people gain experiences that will certainly influence their career choices and future plans," says Jani Loikkanen, TET.fin project manager.
Raksa TET week was organized from September 29.9 to October 3.10 in the Helsinki metropolitan area.
