Master of Laws Kirsi Martinkauppi has been appointed as the responsibility director of Rakennustuoteollisuus RTT and a member of the management team of Rakennustuoteollisuus RT. He will start work on March 1.

Kirsi Martinkauppi will take up her new position from the Ministry of the Environment, where she has worked since 2008, first as a government secretary and legislative advisor, and most recently as a government advisor and head of the Buildings and Construction Unit at the Department of the Built Environment. Previously, she has worked, among other things, as a rapporteur at the Supreme Administrative Court and as a lawyer at the Espoo Urban Planning Centre.
As director of responsibility, Martinkauppi is responsible for managing the environmental issues of the construction product and construction industry, EU internal market issues, and influencing EU regulation in terms of construction and responsibility. His job description also includes tasks related to environmental legislation, regulations and standardization. Martinkauppi works as the leader of RT's climate change and low-carbon team. The work also emphasizes advising RTT's member companies, especially in the application of the new construction product regulation and the possibilities of a green transition.
Martinkauppi represents RT in his area of responsibility in business association and stakeholder cooperation, both nationally and internationally. He reports to RTT's CEO, who is also RT's Deputy CEO.
"It's great to have an expert like Martinkaupi join us, who has long-term experience in regulation of the built environment and environmental issues, such as energy efficiency, low carbon and circular economy. He has a strong knowledge of the EU's internal market, especially the construction product regulation, and very good connections not only with the administration, but also with the entire real estate and construction industry", CEO of RTT Juha Luhanka says.

Martinkauppi succeeds environment and energy director Pekka Vuori, who retired at the end of autumn 2024.
Rakennustuoteollisuus RTT ry has one hundred key construction product manufacturers as members. The industry association is part of Rakennusteollisuus RT.
