For the third time, Rakennusteollisuus RT organized a strategy seminar for the university management of the built environment. Three themes rose above the others.

The event gathered a large number of participants from the universities of Aalto, Tampere, Oulu and Lappeenranta. As a result of the dialogue, many concrete actions were taken to develop cooperation.
The event emphasized the need to create a new kind of cooperation between universities and companies without forgetting the current events and forums. In this way, different universities' own emphases can be better emphasized and teaching content can be developed.
Another clear area of focus is increasing RDI funding and making wider use of Business Finland and EU financial instruments than at present.
Better integration of international experts and students in Finland emerged as the third theme. In connection with this, it was decided to establish a separate group, which will think about measures that can facilitate integration into both Finnish construction companies and society as a whole. In the future dialogue, concrete ways have already been found for cooperation between universities and companies.
The event was felt to be very useful by the participants, so RT is committed to continuing this tradition and dialogue with universities in the coming years as well.
