The occupational safety competition between house construction sites in the Satakunta area has been resolved

The occupational safety competition between construction sites for last year's safest site in the Satakunta region has been resolved. The competition was won by Skanska Talonrakennus Oy's construction site Pohjois-Pori Multitoimitalo.

In the Satakunta region, an occupational safety competition between house construction sites has been organized for several years. The evaluation criteria in the competition have been the TR indices of the construction sites. The site measurements were made by the inspector of the Pori branch office of the regional administrative agency's area of responsibility for occupational health and safety. The competition period is a calendar year.

Unit manager of Skanska Talonrakennus Oy's Satakunta unit Kimmo Korkiamäki rejoices with the construction site personnel about the win:

"Fortunately, the occupational safety competition has made a comeback in Satakunta after a few years of corona break. Long-term work to promote occupational safety has guaranteed us a good starting point for construction site safety issues, and we at Skanska are very pleased with the recognition we have received. We will continue this work with a good and disciplined attitude."

"We have succeeded in creating a good occupational safety culture at the Multitoimitalo construction site in Pohjois-Pori. In practice, this means that all persons working on the site understand the importance of occupational safety. We have invested especially in joint occupational safety meetings, where you can have an open discussion even about challenging issues."

"In addition to us, both the client's representatives and side and subcontractors together have set out to build a safe working environment. In addition, efforts have been made to bring the quality of the entire operation in our organization to such a level that occupational safety is not just one separate element in the operation chain of the construction site, but is synchronized with the entire construction process as one important piece."

"This win shows that our occupational safety expertise is at an excellent level. More than 500 days have already been worked in the Satakunta area without a single accident leading to absenteeism, which means that even at this winning site, all accidents at work have been avoided. Thanks to the site organization and all stakeholders for their commitment to the implementation of a safe working environment."
