Statement on amending the Construction Act

In its statement, RT has outlined the construction industry's positions on the amendments to the Construction Act prepared by the Ministry of the Environment.

The law includes, among other things, a definition of a zero-emission building and additions required by the new Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD). The ministry proposes that the energy efficiency requirements would apply to all renovations, but according to RT, they should only be applied to renovations requiring a permit in addition to new construction. In addition, a lifelong transitional provision is coming for school engineers for exceptionally demanding design and construction management tasks, as has already been the case for building architects and master builders. New provisions for short-term rental of apartments have also been proposed for the law.
