Kultaranta's renovation earned it the title of Master of the Year in Southwest Finland.

Civil engineer Ami Laamo has been selected as the 2024 Champion of the Building Construction Industry Association of Southwest Finland. “Honesty is one of the values that is important to every person. As a responsible champion, it strengthens your leadership. Everyone respects a champion who inspires with his principles without compromising them, and who does not make false promises. In this case, he is a good candidate for champion of the year, like Ami Laamo,” describes the CEO of Rakennustoimisto Laamo Oy. Ari Silvola.

Ami Laamo graduated as a civil engineer in 1997 and has worked for Rakennustoimisto Laamo Oy ever since. The Kultaranta villa project that was the basis for the selection as Master of the Year was an exceptionally demanding classified basic renovation and conservation project. Ami can be considered a veteran of the site, as his previous projects have included the implementation of the guesthouse in 2000 and the completion of the gatehouse in 2010.

"Ami is a professional that any employer would be proud of and can always rely on. She takes on difficult and challenging projects and emerges victorious. In the extensive Kultaranta project, where the entire area of the property was 54 hectares, including various buildings, including a granite castle, other buildings, greenhouses and large manicured park areas. In such a large project management contract, it is clear that delegation skills, interaction skills and good nerves are required from the responsible master," continues Silvola.

“The Laamo Construction Office had a total of about ten employees on the Kultaranta project, and each had their own area of responsibility. It was important to be aware of how their own area related to the other areas, which guaranteed a successful outcome. We at Laamo Construction Office feel privileged to have been able to carry out the basic renovation of one of our national treasures.”

The Master of the Year award has been awarded since 1982. The annual award is based on significant achievements in construction. The aim is to highlight the importance of construction site management.
