At the annual Pro Quality celebration, Rakennusprodukten's Quality Foundation awarded the year's most significant theses in the field of construction. The purpose of the award is to encourage students and educational institutions in the field to research the field and develop innovative solutions for today's operating environment.

One happy recipient of the Pro Quality award this year was a 26-year-old Juuso Järviö From Tampere. The award-winning diploma thesis on the development of building engineering implementation planning documentation originated from the Building Technology 2030 research project, which Juuso participated in at the University of Tampere.
"My diploma thesis investigates in more detail the interface when the building technical implementation planning is completed and the construction site should start implementing this plan. It has been found that there are still many challenges in how information flows from planning to implementation", he opens his final work.
In the diploma thesis, planning coordination is approached based on a data model. Juuso hopes that it could also be used in practical work.
"Here is a lot of gathered information in one and the same package and a few suggestions on how to better include awareness of the implementation, so that the implementing organization would have more time to get to know the plans in a calm and predictable way," he emphasizes.
"The award means a lot to the researcher. Thanks to the funding, I was able to focus on doing my diploma thesis, which clearly increased the quality of the work".

Project management and work organization are of interest to 26-year-old Juuso Järviöt, who currently works as a project engineer in construction consulting.
At the event, the dissertation laureate gave a speech on behalf of the laureates Jesse Lietzé emphasized the same values.
"I see visionary thinking behind the Construction Quality Foundation, that this kind of work is worth supporting and worth investing in."
"A thesis is not just a routine academic achievement, but it enables one to delve deeper into a certain topic and also guides its author in a certain direction. Rewarding is then very encouraging and has a positive effect on the quality of work. I see visionary thinking behind the Construction Quality Foundation, that this kind of work is worth supporting and worth investing in," he said in his speech.
At the Pro Quality celebration held in Helsinki in September, Pro Quality prizes worth 5 euros were awarded to two doctor's dissertations and five diploma theses. Awarded theses were required to deal with the quality management of the building product industry, building technology and construction, as well as the elimination of adverse effects related to the environment and safety.
"The foundation can give grants and grants, among other things, for research work related to theses and postgraduate studies carried out at educational institutions. Seven Pro Quality awards have been given out today, with the aim of highlighting the know-how in the construction industry that is created in our universities every year. The reward also aims to develop cooperation between schools and the foundation. These graduates have done exemplary theses," states the CEO of the Foundation Jaakko Tuominen.
The winners of the Pro Quality awards are selected in cooperation with universities and colleges. The schools propose meritorious theses to the Foundation, from which the Foundation selects the winners of the Pro Quality award.

The Quality of Construction Products Foundation supports research, development and training activities aimed at the development of construction products and construction quality management in various forms. Every year, the foundation distributes a significant part of the income from its capital to public purposes. By 2022, the foundation will have distributed grants, donations and grants of over 6 million euros. The foundation says that there could be more applications every year, so it's worth applying for them.
The foundation was founded in 2007 to continue the activities of Rakennusprodukten Laatu RTL ry. The association was founded by the industry in 1996 with the purpose of acting as a comprehensive quality inspection and certification institution for the construction product industry.
