The reform of the Housing Corporation Act begins

The Ministry of Justice has appointed a working group to prepare a proposal for updating the Housing Corporation Act. A monitoring group has also been appointed to support the working group, in which Anu Kärkkäinen and Aleksanteri Viinikka participate as representatives of RT.

The current Housing Corporation Act came into force in 2010 and needs to be changed. Updating the Housing Corporation Act is part of the Prime Minister's plan Petteri Orpo government program.

According to the government program, among other things, intervening in disruptive situations of housing associations and taking apartments under the management of the housing association, the controlled shutdown of housing associations, and the installation of charging points for electric cars in housing associations will be facilitated. In addition, the prerequisites for short-term rental activities are ensured, but at the same time, it is possible to deal with the identified problems better than at present.

The working group that prepares the law will start its work by preparing legislative proposals for facilitating the notification of warnings and decisions required for taking possession of a condominium by March 31.3.2024, 31.5.2024. The term of office of the working group lasts until May XNUMX, XNUMX.
