Ville Määttä

- "I am a 27-year-old civil engineering and civil engineering engineer from Oulu University of Applied Sciences. I am currently working at GRK Infra Oy as a foreman. I first went to summer work last May and after graduating in the fall I got a permanent position. In my free time, I play various stick games such as ice hockey and tennis. In addition, fly fishing is an important hobby."
- "I have always been interested in the infrastructure sector. Something about it has always fascinated me. I had my first summer job more than 10 years ago in the city of Kuhmo as a municipal engineering employee. In addition, good employment prospects and the versatility of the infrastructure sector are pluses. It is also possible to be involved in quite significant projects and get something visible done. There is no specific single aspect, but the whole is versatile and good."
- "The purpose in the future would be to develop my own professional skills, learn new things and develop in my own work. Later, you could study an even higher university of applied sciences degree."
- "It's worth boldly giving young people responsibility and creating a good atmosphere for learning and development. You have to trust the young person. GRK has been a really good employer in this regard as well. I am very satisfied. GRK has been able to do things in a really versatile way and the company has a positive atmosphere for learning."
Aleksi Pulkkinen

- "I have accumulated 25 years of age. My education is a basic degree in building construction from a vocational school, and in December 2021 I graduated as a master builder from the Oulu University of Applied Sciences. Even on the basis of a vocational school, it is possible to study at a university of applied sciences and do well there. I would believe that this is exactly what many people who have only attended vocational school are thinking about. I work at NRC Group Finland Oy as a site foreman of the railway construction unit. I started working at the company in April 2021 as a technical intern, and after the summer the company offered me a permanent site foreman position, which I gladly accepted. Most of my free time is spent on hunting and things related to it."
- "After vocational school, I worked as a carpenter on the home side, and somewhere in between, the infrastructure industry started to attract me based on its versatile career opportunities and good employment opportunities. The final seal for the choice of the infra sector came when I completed my bachelor's degree and in my first work management internship, which I completed in Kemi at the Elijärvi mine."
- "I am open-minded about the future, I think that any opportunities, especially on the work front, should not be ruled out in the early stages of a working career. The next bigger dream in civilian life is to build your own house."
- "There are a lot of so-called old-school workers in the construction industry, both as white-collar workers and as installers. This school of thought has a lot of tacit information that you don't learn by reading about anything. In my opinion, young people should be taught more by their parents before they retire, so that every new generation in the construction industry does not have to stumble on the same threshold that the previous generation has already stumbled on once. In this way, even our young people can become top experts of the future."
