Training: Fair Labor Standards – support and operational certainty for intervening in harassment situations December 9th at 10:00–11:00 => elected officials and occupational safety and health representatives

Shop stewards and occupational safety representatives can play a key role when inappropriate treatment or gender-based and sexual harassment arises in the work community. In this training, we strengthen the ability to recognize different forms of harassment, to confront the person who has experienced harassment sensitively, and to support them in taking the situation forward.

The training covers practical aspects such as how to address the situation, what kind of support can be offered to the person experiencing harassment, and how to direct the matter forward in accordance with the employee's job and workplace operating models. At the same time, we examine the boundaries of one's own role and cooperation with superiors, the employer, and other necessary parties.

The goal is to strengthen the participants' confidence and ability to promote that the person raising a concern is heard and that the situation is responded to appropriately, timely and safely.

The trainer is the Head of Communications and Advocacy. Emma Winiecki.

The training is part of the Fair Labor Project, a joint project of the entire construction industry, which is supported by the Construction Industry Federation RT, the Finnish Construction Federation, Pro, RIL, RKL, RIA and Safa, as well as the Electricity Federation, STTA and STUL. We want to build a work culture where everyone is treated equally and fairly. Let's put an end to discrimination, harassment and inappropriate treatment together!

The materials and recording will be published on our member pages after the training.
