LVI-TU submitted its statement to the Ministry of Labor and Economy's request for a statement regarding the reform of the Labor and Employment Act on January 14.1.2021, XNUMX. The compilation has collected the most important points on which LV-TU took a stand in its statement.
The biggest problems in the current law concern complex and open-to-interpretation formal regulations, unreasonably harsh penalties for even minor violations, and a considerable administrative burden that burdens smaller companies in particular. Unfortunately, the working group's report does not present any fixes for these problems. Instead, the administrative burden and mandatory form regulations would increase even more, for example, the so-called through continuous dialogue.
LVI-TU believes that the proposed law would not solve the problems related to the current law, but would, on the contrary, cause more administrative burden and costs for companies. Therefore, the preparation of the law reform should not continue based on the report.
