Parliamentary elections 2022
Our goal is a sustainably growing and safe Finland. We also made our parliamentary election goals, the construction industry's promises to Finland, based on that. However, in order to fulfill these promises, we need the support of society.

Decision-makers must be ready to commit and invest in building a sustainably growing and safe Finland. In the next government program, the real estate and construction sector must be raised to the place it deserves in the order of importance.
Housing: We promise to build reasonably priced housing - as long as society does not put obstacles in the way
Cities are the growth engines of the whole of Finland. The lack of apartments must not become an obstacle to their development. Everyone should have the opportunity for affordable housing that meets their needs. We need comprehensive thinking, plots and funding.
Housing and construction are under increasing pressure
+According to VTT, the predicted population growth and keeping Finland on the growth track require the construction of at least 35 apartments annually. Without adequate and correct housing supply, the labor force does not move and regional inequality increases. The amount of properly targeted renovations must be doubled so that buildings remain in use longer and consume less energy.
Success requires plots of land, financing and smooth regulation
+Housing prices in Finland have clearly risen more slowly than in other Nordic countries. According to the Bank of Finland, the increase in prices has been held back by abundant housing construction. Maintaining this advantage will also require a sufficient supply of land, smooth zoning and functioning financial markets in the future. The regulation of the industry must be dared to be developed in an enabling manner.
Solving the challenges of housing opens many doors
+Meeting the need for housing means building 700 apartments by 000. That means investments of 2040 billion euros. The euros used for labour-intensive and tax-intensive construction boost the entire economy and generate more tax revenue. Finland needs a better urban policy. MAL agreements must serve as a joint growth vision of the state and municipalities.
Safety and competitiveness: We promise to build a safer and more accessible Finland - as long as the funding is in order
Functional logistics is the backbone of a safe society. A large, sparsely populated country needs a modern road network and transport investments to ensure crisis resistance and the success of the regions.
Finland has a bad habit that takes us backwards in development
+The development of transport infrastructure creates security for the future
+Our geographic location affects not only the operating conditions of export companies, but also our security of supply. Finland must be annexed
in terms of traffic to the west, and accessibility between different parts of the country must be raised to a new level. A green future requires the construction of charging and distribution infrastructure. The modernization of the rail network can be achieved by purposefully implementing a strong rail vision.
The return trip to the rest of the North has to be caught up
+A more sustainable tomorrow: We promise a more sustainable future - as long as the policy is smart
The construction industry is committed to Finland's climate goals. The industry offers a wide range of solutions for increasing energy efficiency, the development leap of the circular economy and the promotion of biodiversity.
Reducing emissions requires an energy-efficient building stock
+The existing building stock produces 76 percent of the emissions of the entire built environment. Improving the energy efficiency of buildings is important from both a climate and economic point of view. At the same time, even more low-carbon and more local energy production is needed
on an accelerated schedule.
Let's build climate works
+In the midst of the energy crisis, energy-wise measures are needed. With properly targeted investments, there is an opportunity to turn the repair debt of municipalities into a platform for green growth and put Finland's schools, kindergartens and roads in good condition. At the same time, the inevitable energy efficiency renovations of building societies and households must also be supported and accelerated.
The industry's productivity leap requires extensive R&D investments
+The built environment must be widely considered in the RDI roadmap, and RDI investments in the sector must be increased. In terms of the circular economy of construction and the leap in productivity in the industry, the most essential and cost-effective measures are the reuse and recycling of construction materials and the reusable material flows used in the manufacture of construction products.
