Checklist for a foreign employee coming to a Finnish construction site.
- Make sure that the terms of your employment are in accordance with Finnish legislation and the collective agreement.
- Make sure you have a posted worker's certificate from the applicable social security if you are a posted worker.
- If you are not a citizen of an EU/EEA country, make sure you have the required permit to work in Finland.
- If you are a citizen of EU/EEA countries, register your right of residence at the Immigration Office if you are staying in Finland more than 3 months. This obligation does not apply to citizens of the Nordic countries.
- You get a Finnish personal identification number when you apply for a construction industry tax number at the Tax Administration office. You must be registered as a worker in the construction industry in the tax number register.
