RT's digital group has been creating conditions for utilizing digitalization in the construction industry for the sixth year now – changes in the board of directors

The Construction Industry RT's digital group has been actively promoting the digitalization of the construction industry since 2020. The group brings together pioneers in the construction industry to address current digital themes, from product information and data foundations to artificial intelligence, information security, and sustainable construction.

Mikko Kuusakoski, the new chairman of the Digital Group (Continued)

The RT Digital Group's activities in 2026 will focus on key issues in the digitalization of the built environment: data interoperability, legislative changes, product information management, and the interfaces between digitalization and sustainability. The meetings will examine digitalization from the perspective of the entire project lifecycle – from design to construction sites and in-use information.

In the themes of the beginning of the year The focus is on the coordination of digitalization and legislation, the accumulation of product information during the project, and the data foundation of the built environment. During the spring, we will delve into product information, product registers, and M-BOM solutions, as well as their relationship to environmental classifications and sustainable construction requirements.

In autumn, the gaze turns more strongly focused on information security, artificial intelligence and classified construction. Several key development projects will also be monitored during the year, such as digitalization of the built environment (RYD) project, as well as national and international projects and events (including TATE2030, Building 2030 and RECOTECH).

Put it on your calendar now: The Digital Group will organize an open event for RT member companies on September 1, 2026, where the themes of the digital group will be discussed more broadly and participants are encouraged to participate in the joint discussion.

The new board of directors supports the digital group's strategic role as part of the overall development of construction

RT's strategic goal is to increase productivity and quality by utilizing digitalization and artificial intelligence across the entire construction value chain.
