Matti Loukkola will start as CEO of the Finnish Building Technology Industry and Trade Association and a member of the management team of the Finnish Construction Industry Association at the beginning of February.

Loukkola joins Talteka from SOK Real Estate Operations, where he worked for eight years as Head of Energy Management at the S Group level. Prior to that, he has almost twenty years of work experience in Finland's leading building services design and energy management companies.

Loukkola holds a Master of Science in Energy and HVAC Technology, and has also completed a real estate business management training course at Kiinko. He is currently undergoing real estate and construction management training.

"Our operating environment is changing rapidly. The changes required by the green transition, as well as EU-level regulation and the digitalization of the real estate sector, require special attention in the future. Matti's background makes him an excellent choice for this demanding advocacy role. His expertise in legislative drafting and cooperation with authorities, advocacy work in various organizations, and excellent collaboration skills create good opportunities for success in this challenging position," says Talteka's Chairman of the Board Marko Sundholm.

As CEO of Talteka, Loukkola is responsible for the organization's overall management, advocacy and influencing of industry, economic, product, energy, environmental and educational policy issues related to the sector. In his work, he works in close cooperation with the organization's experts, board and member companies, and represents the building services industry in several positions of trust and in various working groups.

"I am excited to accept the position and continue Ilkka Salo's significant and long-term work in a changing industry environment. I look forward to utilizing my experience and network of collaborators in energy efficiency, good indoor air quality and responsibility. I am strongly focused on the future, and I am motivated by the opportunity to influence the future of the entire industry and promote its potential and attractiveness," says Matti Loukkola.

Talteka's long-time CEO Ilkka Salo will retire at the end of February. In December, Salo was awarded the ProLVI medal for his achievements in the building services and HVAC sector.

"I would like to thank Ilkka, who has significantly contributed to the development of the building services industry during his long career. From the beginning, he has strived to unite the industry's actors into a larger whole, so that our expertise and voice in the real estate and construction industry would be taken into account. Ilkka had a great vision and I think it has been well realized," says Marko Sundholm.
