The Low Carbon Construction Databank brings together information on the climate impacts of buildings and ways to reduce their harmful impacts. The databank and related training will support real estate and construction companies as they adapt to the new regulatory guidance that will come into effect in early 2026.

The database reviews key regulations regarding low-carbon development, assessing the climate impacts of new buildings, and guiding construction projects. It also examines the cost impacts of low-carbon measures and the linking of environmental classifications to low-carbon development. The database is free to use.
The data bank includes example projects that delve into different aspects of sustainable construction. The projects included range from apartment buildings to a daycare project, an entire city center, and construction that supports public transportation. Low-carbon construction has been targeted for each project through, among other things, longevity, smart energy solutions, and material choices. Video interviews explain how low-carbon construction is guided and implemented in practice.
RATEKO will also launch training in September 2025 that will familiarize participants with the basics of low-carbon construction, new regulations, and calculation methods. The price of the training is 495 euros, and registration for it ends on August 26.8.2025, XNUMX.
The data bank and training are part of the KEKRI 3 project, which focuses on information, guidance and training on low-carbon construction. The project is linked to the KEKRI project complex that was launched in 2018, which is based on the Finnish Construction Industry's goal of promoting the production of long-lasting, energy- and environmentally efficient buildings.
The Construction Industry Training Centre RATEKO has implemented the project in cooperation with the Finnish Construction Industry Federation (RT) and its following sectors: Building Construction Industry, Building Product Industry (RTT), Technical Building Industry and Trade, and INFRA. The project has received funding from the Finnish Foundation for the Quality of Construction Products.
