Real estate owners and developers Rakli ry and Rakennusteollisuus RT ry have started negotiations to renew the general contract terms. The YSE terms and conditions are intended to manage the contractual relations of construction contracts between customers and contractors. They were last renewed in 1998.
"We are renewing the general contract terms of the construction contract in the current scope and purpose of use and in accordance with the prevailing basic principles", CEO of Rakli Jyrki Laurikainen says.
The reform examines the effects of the development of the operating environment and the needs for change identified by the parties together on the conditions. Topics discussed in the negotiations include, for example, changes in the content and schedule of the contract, as well as the conditions regarding the cooperation of the parties.
"The purpose is to facilitate the cooperation of the parties and the resolution of disruption situations, and thereby improve the smoothness of construction and, ultimately, productivity. We are trying to clarify the YSE and especially its points that cause ambiguities in interpretation", deputy CEO of Rakennusteollisuus RT Kim Kaskiaro toteaa.
The negotiators are people gathered by Rakli and Rakennusteollisuus RT from different branches of construction. Rakli's negotiators represent residential, infrastructure and business premises construction. Regarding the construction industry RT, the negotiators respectively represent different sectors of contracting, such as building construction, infrastructure, building technology and surface industries. In addition, the Sähkö- ja telukotakoitsijat STUL ry participates in the negotiations.
Rakli and RT will inform about the progress of the negotiations as needed. The parties have set a target schedule for the renewal of three years.
