The Yhdyskuntateknikki 2021 exhibition, YT21 for short, was supposed to be held in May according to the first plan. Like several other events, it was moved to the fall.
The new date is 13–14.10 October. The place is still the same, i.e. Turku Fair Center. INFRA ry is involved in the background troops of the event with five other organizations.
All in all, more than 220 exhibitors and more than 5 exhibition visitors are expected in the exhibition halls and the yard's outdoor exhibition area.
But why go as an exhibitor at Finland's largest exhibition and seminar event in the infrastructure sector? An INFRA member entrepreneur talks about his experiences Juha-Matti Vainio From West Coast Road Masters Oy. The company, founded in 2012, was already present at the YT13 exhibition.
Junnu Vainio at the YT19 exhibition in Jyväskylä, expecting the first customers of the day.
According to ”Junnu” Vainio, the main reason for the company that produces measurement and consulting services in the road industry throughout Finland to participate in YT exhibitions is the visibility and familiarity it gets during the exhibition days.
"At the YT exhibition, you can easily get in touch with the technical personnel of municipalities and cities, and especially with people interested in the company's industry, during the two days. It would probably take a small company a year to meet the same number with direct contacts!", continues Vainio.
As an example, "Junnu" Vainio mentions that the company had both an indoor and an outdoor section at the YT19 exhibition. The outdoor section was on display a device intended for drilling road structural layers. The next time, going in the north direction, we used the device to do work for a company we met at the exhibition.
In addition, "Junnu" Vainio mentions the conversations with other exhibitors and exchanging business cards as an important part of the YT exhibitions.
"They have spawned contacts when a suitable offer request and the need for a partner have come later," continues Junnu.
