At Work

I am in the CFCI management team. I am responsible for CFCI’s strategy and implementing it in our daily activities. I am also responsible for CFCI’s internal development programme called “Vaikuttavampi RT”. I bring the constructor’s perspective into the work of the management team. My most important task, however, is to find ways to develop the productivity and quality of construction throughout the construction value chain. Means for improving productivity and quality are developed together with CFCI digitalisation working group and the Building Construction Industry Development Group. I am responsible for the CFCI Development of Construction team, which actively strives to find ways to promote the development of the sector from the perspective of the entire construction industry. I am also involved in several other CFCI cross-cutting teams and, for example, working groups preparing for the reconstruction of Ukraine as CFCI representative.

At the Site

I have a fairly traditional background as a constructor: the job runs in my family, and I have had summer jobs on construction sites. Already at a young age I found the concrete nature of the construction work attractive, and in 2003 I applied to Tampere University of Technology, as it was called at the time. In the beginning of my career path, in addition to my studies, I worked as a summer team leader and project engineer trainee at Lemcon. After graduating in 2010 I started working at SRV as a project engineer until I moved to China to become a senior project engineer for UPM’s Panda project in 2013. After returning from China, I returned to SRV as a project manager, and I was able to manage interesting projects working on both facilities and housing as well as both new construction and renovation. I have always been interested in the development of the field as well as in improving myself, which is why I also had the opportunity to work as the company’s development manager. After my long career at SRV, I began working in similar positions at CFCI in October 2021. Here at CFCI I am attracted to the idea that I can both influence and develop the entire construction sector.

In my free time

In my free time, I like to exercise, especially outdoors: in summer I run, walk, wander and cycle. I even commute from Meilahti by bicycle. In winter, I tend to do both downhill and cross-country skiing. However, my greatest passion has always been travelling with my wife. Our hope is to one day find the perfect cottage where we can quiet down amid of our hectic everyday life.
