Maskun Talotekniikkaitiimi Oy is a company specializing in HVAC contracting, performing installations and maintenance work in the southwestern region of Finland. Joining the HVAC Technical Contractors Association LVI-TU was a given right after the company was founded, as membership is the key to getting the most up-to-date information and influencing the future of the industry.

The family's long history in the HVAC industry found a natural continuation when Mika Nikula founded Masku Taloteknihtiamiin in 2005. Today, the third generation of the family business is working in the family business. The head office is located in Masku, and the company's operations cover the entire southwestern Finland region. The Masku Taloteknihtiamiin's range of services includes, among other things, pipe renovations, HVAC system adjustments, sprinkler and heat pump installations, as well as district heating system installations, maintenance work and repairs for all types and sizes of properties.
Viewpoint and influence channel
CEO Mika Nikula serves as the chairman of LVI-TU and a member of the RT board and the Finnish Confederation of Trade Unions' representative body. Board work provides a vantage point and a means of influencing the future of both the HVAC industry and the entire construction industry.
"Belonging to associations gives the industry association a stronger position and enables a broader impact than operating alone. In addition, the different association levels open up excellent networking opportunities," says Mika Nikula.
Concreteness and cost savings
Masku's Building Technology Team utilizes the membership services of LVI-TU and RT, such as training and advocacy channels.
"Through these, we receive up-to-date information on, among other things, changes in the law and developments in the construction industry and business life at both national and EU levels. All of this supports the growth and development of our own business," says Nikula.
Membership has brought tangible benefits, especially advisory services on tax, legal and contractual matters. Mika Nikula gives a good example of this:
“The client delayed the final financial statement. I received instructions from the union’s lawyer and references to court decisions, according to which, if the client refuses to hold the final financial statement after a reasonable period of time, the contractor can convene it and it is legally valid, even if the client does not show up. With these instructions and references, the client held the final financial statement and paid the final invoice a couple of weeks before going bankrupt. Without the help of the union’s expert, it is likely that several tens of thousands of euros would have been missed.”
Masku's Building Technology team also uses the Safety Information Reporting System provided by RT. Route.
