Member story: “We also want to show the outside world that we are a reliable company”

Rakennuspalvelu Kronqvist Oy serves its customers in building contracting, industrial, repair and renovation construction. Membership in the building construction industry is important to them, among other things, to stay up to date on legal and contractual matters - but it also tells customers that an organized employer manages its premises responsibly.

Owner-CEO Cay Kronqvist founded Kronqvist Oy, which operates in Uusikaarlepy, Pietarsaari and Vaasa, when he was only 20 years old. The head office is located in Uusikaarlepy, but the operations cover the whole of Western Finland and the customers include companies, private individuals and public sector actors. In addition to Rakennuspalvelu Kronqvist Oy Kronqvist Companies Ltd also operates an engineering office and real estate investment activities. The various functions of the growing group complement each other.

Actively involved in the district association

The building construction industry has nine regional district associations, of which Cay Kronqvist serves as vice-chairman of the Ostrobothnia district association. The technical director also has board experience. Tommi from Rintamäki

“We actively participate in the activities of the district association and in the work of the board,” says Cay Kronqvist.

“I myself was also previously involved in the district board when I was the CEO of Arkta Kulti,” says Tommi Rintamäki, who started as Kronqvist's technical director in March of this year.

Kronqvist Oy is also involved in promoting sustainable development themes in the Real Circular cluster. The goal of the Nordic knowledge cluster is to extend the life cycle of the built environment.

An organized employer is up to date

The main reasons why Kronqvist joined the Finnish Building Construction Industry were networking with construction industry and regional operators – and responsibility.

“We also want to show externally that we are a reliable company that fulfills its obligations and takes good care of its personnel,” says Kronqvist.

Membership has also had concrete benefits: for example, access to legal services and networks are important for every company.

"We want to stay up to date on contract matters. The most important membership benefits for us are advice on construction and employment contract law, information on the construction industry's economic situation, and information related to legislation and regulations."
