Nina Lindström is the new chairman of INFRA's board. INFRA will be led by an uncompromising advocate for renewing the contract culture.
RTA COMPANIES IS a true family business.
CEO Nina Lindström's spouse Jarmon was once hired by Nina's father Raimo TAVirtanen.
Veli Harri Virtanen is the technical director and sister Päivi Virtanen manage the economy.
Nina Lindström guides employees to lead themselves, away from the culture of followers. He graduated with a master's degree in law from the University of Turku in 1999. The subject of his thesis was local agreement and working time law.
"That's where the fluffing of the contract culture started. At that point, the decision to continue in the family business also matured," says Nina.
"I am promoting the importance of local agreements in workplaces. The more leeway is left to agree at the heart of things on the job site, the more both the company and the employee win. In a win-win situation, a traditional confrontation cannot develop. Traditional or top-down models are not even suitable for all workplaces."
THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY IS full of newlyweds; customer-contractor, contractor-subcontractor, employer-employee. Negotiation skills are needed.
"The member entrepreneurs of INFRA ry, especially SME entrepreneurs, need tools for negotiations from INFRA. Negotiation skills and knowledge of general contract terms and the contents of collective agreements best develop SMEs and enable fruitful interaction between the parties," emphasizes Lindström.
There is also a lot to be developed in the planning of contracts. If anything is certain when the construction site starts, it's plan changes.
"The customers are responsible for raising the level of project planning. The customer affects the coordination of the design. Since plan changes on the construction site are the rule and not the exception, the customer must respond to this challenge quickly and professionally."
"ESPECIALLY THE MUNICIPALITIES are very different and comparison is difficult, but there is one common feature; a consultant is preferably used for procurement and contract supervision. Municipalities would often find expertise from their own back, and using a consultant only adds to the bureaucracy," claims Nina Lindström.
"As a resident of the municipality and an entrepreneur, of course I want the work to be done efficiently and effectively. Municipalities must find out the costs of their operations and compete and compare what opportunities, for example, outsourcing would provide. By focusing on the development of procurement expertise and the supervision of contracts, the municipalities will receive significant savings."
AT RTA COMPANIES is currently running demanding foundation construction, district heating and maintenance projects. The largest construction contract is the construction of the 400 kilovolt switching plant and another transformer in Vantaa's Länsisalmi. District heating is being built at Kaukolämmö in Riihimäki.
The company has total care contracts in Vantaa Korso and Helsinki in the Kulosaari-Herttoniemi-Laajasalo area. My hometown Hyvinkää has started as a new project destination.
